The mercy of Jesus does not trap us in the past; it receives us in truth and opens a new possibility of reconciliation.

Jesus, here I am with my story, my decisions, and what I need to acknowledge. Give me courage to return to you without hiding and humility to repair through action the harm for which I am responsible. Help me receive your mercy without turning it into an excuse and begin again in truth. When reconciliation is not safe, grant me wisdom, firm boundaries, and a heart free from revenge. Amen.

Reflection
After the death of Jesus, those who loved him attended to his burial and then observed a time of rest. There was a period between loss and the news of resurrection when the story seemed still.
Grief also includes days with no visible progress. Resting, remembering, and allowing others to handle practical tasks can be part of care. Hope does not need to turn every silence into an explanation.
Prayer
Jesus, accompany me in these silent hours. Give me permission to rest, grateful memory to honor what was lived, and patient companionship as I keep walking. Amen.

Reflection
In the story of the good Samaritan, Jesus shows mercy that notices, draws near, and acts. A neighbor is not reduced to an idea: it is the wounded person along the road who needs real care.
You may not be able to resolve an entire need, but you can refuse to pass by. Ask, listen, and offer what is safe and sustainable. Connecting someone with appropriate help can also be service.

Jesus, give me eyes to recognize someone who needs care. Teach me to draw near respectfully and offer concrete, wise, and sustainable help. Amen.

Reflection
On the road to Emmaus, two disciples spoke with Jesus about what they had hoped for and what now seemed lost. He listened to their whole account before helping them see the story from a new perspective.
Hope does not require pretending the disappointment was small. You can tell what happened, learn, and keep walking without understanding everything immediately. Jesus draws near to the process, not only to the outcome.
Prayer
Jesus, walk with me in this disappointment. Hear what I hoped for, open my understanding, and help me recognize the next step without denying what I lost. Amen.
